On January 19, 2025, 2819 Life Church was planted in the Midtown-Troost area of Kansas City, MO—a community with a rich yet complex history. Midtown-Troost has long been a symbol of both racial division and resilience. In the 1950s and 1960s, Troost Avenue became known as the city’s “racial divide,” a boundary shaped by segregation policies, redlining, and racial covenants that excluded African Americans from certain neighborhoods. Though progress has been made, the lingering effects of this history are still felt today.

Yet, amid this history, Midtown-Troost is also a place of hope, revival, and transformation. At 2819 Life Church, we are deeply rooted in the community and anchored in the hope of the Gospel. We believe that true hope is found in Jesus alone, and our mission is to share this message with Midtown-Troost—bringing unity, healing, and transformation.
